Xindu Health Center was founded in 1927 during the period of the Republic of China. It's the predecessor of Xindu District People's Hospital of Chengdu. After several generations of construction, the new hospital building officially began to treat the patients on July 2, 2014. It is a non-profit Two-A comprehensive hospital with the ownership by the whole people and equipped with complete professions, advanced medical equipments and strong technical force. Specialized in medical treatment,prevention, research, teaching and public health services, it is one member of West China Hospital Union and Sichuan Provincial People's Hospital (group) and attached with Xindu District 120 Emergency Center and District Store Blood Banks. It is also the designated hospital for inductrial injury, disability identification in the region, cadre health care, conscription examination and medical examination for college entrance.On July 2, 2014, Xindu District People's Government of Chengdu signed the Deepening Cooperation Agreement for Hospital Management with West China Hospital of Sichuan University. West China Hospital of Sichuan University officially gave Xindu District People's Hospital of Chengdu the support and help in hospital management concept, talent cultivation, discipline construction, operation management and etc. by sending business directors, operation management experts into Xindu.
